Dried moss for hamsters is a natural substrate that adds an aesthetic, forest-like environment while encouraging natural behaviours like burrowing and hiding.

It absorbs moisture and odours to help keep the habitat dry and fresh, and can be used for decoration or as a nesting material.

  • Benefits of using dried moss

    • Encourages natural behaviour: It stimulates a hamster's instinct to dig and burrow, which provides a sense of safety.
    • Moisture and odour control: The moss naturally absorbs excess moisture and traps unpleasant odours, helping to keep the enclosure cleaner and drier.
    • Natural and aesthetic: It provides a realistic and green-looking natural habitat for your pet.
    • Safe for creating structures: You can use it to fill gaps in wooden bridges or other items to prevent your hamster from getting stuck.

    How to use dried moss

    • Prepare the moss: Before use, take the moss out of the packaging and break it apart to make it fluffy.
    • Place in enclosure: Spread a layer in the bottom of the cage, use it for decorative purposes, or add it to nesting areas.
    • Store properly: Keep the unused moss in a cool, dry place, preferably in an air tight container.
